acupuncture

Experience the healing power of acupuncture in a shared restorative experience or individualized treatment.

Acupuncture is a 4,000 year old system of medicine used to treat illness, relieve pain and stress, support well-being and bring emotional balance.

Community Acupuncture

Black Mountain Yoga offers affordable, high-quality community acupuncture in an open relaxed setting.

You will receive individualized treatment in a room with others, which raises the Qi (life force energy) dynamic and healing is enhanced, with friends and family able to come together.

At your appointment time you will enter the yoga studio and find a yoga mat with props set up for your comfort. Our acupuncturist, Anisha Fraser, will briefly discuss your health concerns and requests for treatment. You do NOT need to undress (you only need to roll your sleeves up to your elbows and your pants up to your knees).

Once the needles are in you’ll have an extended 30-40 minutes of relaxation with soft background music to enhance the experience. Please allow 1 hour for each session.

For acupuncture to be most effective in healing specific health concerns, patients do need to receive it regularly.

Private Acupuncture

If you prefer more in-depth 1-on-1 treatment, we also offer Private Acupuncture appointments.

During a private session you’ll share your health concerns in more detail, and receive an individualized and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment based on the information you provide, and through Anisha’s Qi pulse diagnosis.

During each session Anisha will stay in the room offering Qi Gong Healing to amplify and facilitate the transformation process.

Qi (energy/life force) healing may be seen as acupuncture without needles, performing the same function through a different method: initiating detoxification, increasing vitality and releasing physical, mental and emotional stresses. It is a non-invasive, all natural, gentle and truly sustainable approach to getting healthy, balancing Qi strength and flow.

First appointments are 1.5-2 hours. Follow-ups are 1 hour.

Acupuncture Testimonials

Anisha is extraordinary. I’ve thoroughly benefitted from being introduced to Anisha, Black Mountain Yoga Center, and acupuncture.”

I loved the community acupuncture experience! It’s an affordable way for me to get acupuncture. Anisha has a lovely energy and seems to know what she’s doing. I’ve only had acupuncture with one other practitioner (she was super experienced) and the experience with Anisha was similar. I look forward to getting more treatments as soon as I can fit it into my schedule.”

I have had a very positive experience with Anisha and acupuncture and it has been very helpful to me. I feel very comfortable with Anisha and feel she is very genuine.”

I have been to community acupuncture with Anisha once and really enjoyed my experience. As someone who regularly gets acupuncture, I appreciate having the opportunity to drop-in at the last minute for a tune-up when needed. Anisha is warm, caring, gentle, and kind and facilitates a smooth flow of the process from checking in, to getting settled and re-emerging. Providing a space to tap into deep healing and relaxation quickly and inexpensively provides a wonderful resource in our community. I so hope this is an offering that continues at BMY.”

The treatment was wonderful! Anisha is very professional and caring. I am thrilled acupuncture is available at the yoga center (my second home!).”

Anisha is a very caring practitioner, readily put me at ease , and focused my attention to the hour ahead. She is very gifted in what she does . I am still unfolding what it all means. I appreciate various opportunities along this journey with teachers to help me notice what I need to notice, and let go what I need to let go, and be ok to just be.”

For us, yoga is more than a series of postures.

At least once a week there is a child in one of my yoga classes. For me this shows how inclusive, accessible, and welcoming BMY is. It is a non-competitive community where all ages, skill levels, body types, and colors of yoga pants are welcome to practice! Without any air of pretension or intimidation BMY provides me a near-daily retreat.
